Sub 70 659 CB Irons
One of the foundational premises of Sub 70 Golf is that until we can improve on a prior generation's club, we will not release a new generation.
The 659 CB is the next iteration of our award winning 639 CB. The 659 CB maintains the same head size and offset as the 639, but with additional weight added to the bottom of the club to lower the center of gravity and add forgiveness on off center hits.
The long irons (3, 4, and 5 irons) feature undercut technology, which creates a hotter face, better ball speeds, and more distance.
The heads are forged and milled from a billet of DT-4 soft steel, which provides the ultimate in feel and workability. The 659 CB provides improvements in ball flight, feel, and shot shaping over the 639 CB, and is a workhorse that should be the choice for players looking for a responsive and technologically advanced forged iron. The 659 CB can also be combined with the 659 MB or 659 TC to make a combination set, as each of them are loft/lie consistent throughout.
Raw finish club heads are meant to rust and create a patina over time. They will arrive with a dull satin appearance but do not actually have a finish applied to them. These heads will begin to rust and build character as they are introduced to moisture and the elements.
Black finish club heads offer a clean, distinct look while also limiting glare and other distractions for the player. The Black QPQ finish has been developed and tested extensively. It provides a significant durability upgrade from the standard Tour PVD finish while providing more of a matte black look.
Satin finish club heads are elegant and timeless. The most popular finish amongst amateurs and professionals alike, the satin finish will keep your clubheads looking sharp for years to come. Without making any bold statements, the satin finish allows the craftsmanship and beauty of your clubs to speak for itself.
Taper Vs Parallel
There are two common shaft tip diameters which are .355" (Taper) and .370" (Parallel). Some shaft models are only manufactured in one diameter (Parallel or Taper) and the club head hosel has to be the same diameter to build the club properly. In order to offer more shaft options for our customers we have added .355" Taper diameter heads to several of our product lines. All of the clubheads perform exactly the same but you will find different shaft options under the "Taper" product pages. If you have any questions on this just let us know. Thank you!
We're honored to have @PGA_JohnDaly playing the 659 irons and TAIII wedges this week at the @PNCchampionship. He's a legend and has been incredible to work with. Thank you JD!https://t.co/G4oRpXA40c
